Context Orb — Privacy Policy

Short version: Context Orb is a browser extension. Your AI chat context stays on your device only. We do not run a backend, do not require an account, and do not sell or share your data.

1. Who we are

Context Orb is a Chrome / Edge browser extension that helps you capture conversation context from supported AI websites and reuse it on other supported AI websites.

2. What data is stored

The extension may store on your device (via chrome.storage.local):

Saved conversation text you choose to capture (“orbs”)
Optional project tags and titles you set
Which orb is currently marked active

This data is stored only in your browser profile. It is not uploaded to our servers — we do not operate a Context Orb cloud database.

3. What we do not collect

No account or login
No analytics or advertising trackers
No sale of personal data
No remote logging of your chats or orbs

4. Permissions

storage — save orbs on your device
scripting and tabs — run the extension UI on supported AI sites and attach context when you ask
Host permissions — only for supported AI sites (for example ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Qwen), so the orb button and capture/drop features can work there

The extension does not request access to all websites.

5. How data is used

Captured text is used only to provide the extension’s features: listing saved orbs, marking an active orb, and injecting that context into a supported AI chat when you use Generate / Drop / smart send.

6. Third-party sites

When you use Context Orb on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, or other supported sites, those services have their own privacy policies. Context Orb does not control how those providers process messages you send them.

7. Deleting your data

Delete individual orbs from the extension popup
Clear the active orb from the orb menu
Uninstall the extension to remove its local storage from that browser profile

8. Children

Context Orb is not directed at children under 13. Do not use the extension if you are under the age required by your local laws for such tools.

9. Changes

We may update this policy when the extension changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
